Powering the LTM 1230-5.1 is a Liebherr six cylinder water cooled diesel engine delivering 400 kW or 544 horsepower. This is paired with a ZF TraXon 12 speed automated gear box. The crane utilizes an innovative Single Engine Concept where the chassis engine powers the crane superstructure via a highly efficient mechanical shaft, which increases effectiveness and reduces maintenance requirements.
