The XCMG QY85KH truck crane provides exceptional lifting power with a maximum rated capacity of 85 tons and a maximum lifting height of 72.3 meters when using the fully extended boom and jib. The crane features a five section telescoping boom with a U cross section, extending from 12.95 meters to 50.5 meters. It also includes a two section lattice jib available in 9.5 meter and 16 meter lengths, which can be installed at 0, 15, and 30 degree offset angles. An additional 9 meter boom extension provides further reach for specialized tasks.

Powering the QY85KH is a SINOTRUK six cylinder, water cooled diesel engine producing 276 kW of rated power, compliant with China V emission standards. This is paired with a SHAANXI mechanical transmission featuring nine forward gears and one reverse gear. The four axle chassis utilizes a leaf spring suspension on the front axles and a rubber spring suspension on the rear axles, ensuring excellent road stability and reduced tire wear.

Safety and precision are paramount in the QY85KH design. The crane is equipped with a Load Moment Indicator (LMI), hydraulic balance valves, and an anti-two block system to prevent rope over-winding. The operator works from a full dimension enclosed cab featuring safety glass, a wide field of view, and standard air conditioning. Stability during lifting is secured by four H shape, double stage outriggers and a customizable counterweight system totaling 20 tons.
